St'art 2005 is particularly coherent, the choice of the selected galleries and of their artists is really good, and the decision to raise the level of this fair along the last years is accomplished.
St'art is becoming an international fair appealing to a public of quality and real amateurs and collectors.
Considering the difficulties of the market, only one gallery took the risk of a one man show: Nicole Buck. Among the artists who confirm their highly exigent work Tony Soulié whose mixed media works are very mature and more subtle than ever.
Four high level collections, The FRAC d'Alsace, The Centaures, Madeleine Millot-Durrenberger, and the ESGAA.
A small but qualitative space devoted to photography with four galleries: Polaris, Kahn, ZTR, and The Garage.
We want to emphasize a few events worthwhile seeing with a special attention.
Many glasswares at the ESGAA.
Interesting space devoted to photographs with two definite highlights, Jacques Polony at the Galerie Romanet, Polony captures the eternity of the ephemere beauty, and Laurence Demaison at the Galerie Schweitzer and her sensitive way to work on disapearing body, on the essence of absence.
The "Centaures" shows a selection of works which talk to the heart and guts rather than to the mind and mental.
Performances every day, pleasant moment with action painting of the inspired Carlito Dalceggio, a work full of energy and desire. On the openning ceremony, painted bodies wcould have been be more interesting if really art oriented, why not a Soulages-black, Klein-blue, a Luciano fontana opened body.
One of the excellent moments of emotion remains the Hermes exhibition, "H'and", with Anne de Vandière and her extremely delicate and subtle texts and pictures.
St'art 2005 keeeps its word and will be an excellent show worthwhile spending time and attention.
