"Untouchable  Things"
is the title of the 7th Internatinal Photographic Triennial in Tampere, Finland

Backlight05 will take place between September 2. 2005 and January 30. 2006

The Triennial is composed of extensive exhibitions displaying contemporary and historical art by both established & young artists from around the world. The exhibitions are accompanied by seminars, workshops, portfolio review, happenings and the competition for the € 5000 Backligh05 Photography Award

Photographic Centre Nykyaika invites artists from around the globe to send their submissions to Backlight05 and to participate in the competition for the Backlight05 Photography Award. The purpose of the award is to encourage and support a young artist who produces fresh and inspiring work according to the theme of the festival.

The award is sponsored by Vitrea Oy.
We search for visual expression that is inspired by ideas of Untouched & Untouchable:
Angles & Saints  - Dreams & Visions - Wilderness - Virgin & Nature - Traditions & Rituals - Taboos - Childhood & Memories - Territories of Longing & Desire - Hidden Treasues
Éreflected by the mirror of contemporary global life!

An international jury will chose and announce The Winner of the Backlight05 Award  at the Central Vernissage at 14.10.2005 Deadline for Submissions is March 31. 2005
